A young man, beaten and in pain, escapes in the dead of night from a tortured life, in an ‘off grid’, lawless, religious cult. Ben, now homeless and all alone, with no perception of the modern world, is rescued by volunteers and tentatively begins a new existence.

But the incredible challenges to overcome from a lifetime of negative programming, coupled with the constant fear of God’s wrath, haunt every day of his newfound freedom. The terrifying, tyrannical cult leader, Brother John, is in constant pursuit of Ben, determined to silence him and lead his return to their secret, sacred compound for severe punishment. On his journey, Ben constantly struggles with the question of whether he is, as Brother John decrees, a devil?

Set in the modern-day, ‘Hellfire’ is a light shone on a religious cult survivors story.
